Building Division
The Building Division's mandate is to ensure a healthy and safe environment in the buildings where we live, work and play. This division reviews building permit applications and conducts on-site inspections for construction projects within the Town of Georgina in accordance with the Ontario Building Code; the Town of Georgina's Zoning By-law and other applicable legislation.
Building Inspection staff is responsible for the inspection of all new construction within the borders of the Town of Georgina. Staff performs special investigations of illegal construction and unsafe buildings.
The following is a list of typical projects handled:
- All commercial, industrial and institutional projects
- All residential projects
- Plumbing installations and site servicing
- On-site sewage systems
- Public swimming pool construction
- Private swimming pool installations
